Great Glen Experience

7 Nights

Age 16+

Starting from Wick, we will be aiming to sail south-west along the Moray Firth towards Inverness with time to visit some anchorages around Golspie, Dornoch and Invergordon.

At Inverness we enter the Caledonian Canal and then head through Loch Ness and Loch Lochy before descending down Neptunes staircase to Corpach (Fort William) and Loch Linnhe – a distance of 66 miles. Hopefully there will be opportunities for some fresh water sailing amongst the Great Glen mountains.

At Corpach, its then two days sailing south to Oban and the end of the delivery. Glencoe is an option for anchoring one night on this final leg.

The voyage is an unique opportunity to combine the North sea with fresh water lochs and magnificent mountain scenery.

Start and finish marinas are different, so please take this into consideration when organising your travel plans. Both marinas are serviced by good public transport links.

Great Glen Experience - Kit Info

The cruising activities are enjoyed on-board one of our 2 yachts. The Centre currently has two Solana’s a 37ft named Somerled and a 38ft named Santa Vey. Both yachts are perfectly suited to the waters around the Clyde and the west coast of Scotland. They provide up to 5 berths for client and all courses and cruises are led by one of our experienced instructors.

Food is provided throughout the cruise. Waterproof sets and lifejackets are on-board each yacht. All other clothing is the responsibility of the sailor and we recommend bringing warm comfortable clothing, which is easy to layer, a warm hat, gloves, suitable footwear, towel and toiletries and of course suntan lotion
