A chance to spend valuable time on the most daunting of the skipper’s roles - berthing and manoeuvring on and around pontoons. This opportunity allows plenty of time to discuss and practice the many scenarios that you are likely to encounter, with an emphasis on practical solutions to everyday berthing problems.
Guided by an experienced instructor will instil confidence and a better understanding of which methods are used in specific situations. The Instructor will be able to discuss the theory and the practical elements of manoeuvres. This is ideal for anyone with a new craft, likely to be manoeuvring more often than their current skill levels allows or a member of crew that does not normally take this role onboard and wants to develop their ability with the supervision of an instructor in a stress free environment.
Courses usually run from Largs marina and clients are asked to be there on the Saturday morning for a 9am start. The course fee includes staying onboard on the Saturday night if the client wishes to do so, food, fuel, waterproofs and instruction.
