Working at Cumbrae is an extremely rewarding experience; with the centre and its yachts providing a challenging, dynamic and vibrant working environment. The centre operates with permanent Senior Instructors and because of the seasonal nature of our activities a pool of Associate Instructors. Between them they deliver one of the most comprehensive watersports training programmes in the country
Cumbrae is currently inviting interested watersports Instructors who wish to be included in our pool of Associate Instructors to submit an application form, in order to be considered for a casual contract, working at National Centre Cumbrae.
Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to attend Staff Inductions, as part of the selection process. The dates of ‘induction days’ are listed below, so if you do submit an application, it’s advisable to “save the dates”. Only in exceptional circumstances will we beable to consider rescheduling an individuals induction.
Your role as a Casual Instructor will be to provide high quality instruction either at the Cumbrae centre and/or on board one of our yachts. Applicants should be a skilled water sports Instructor, with appropriate NGB Instructor qualifications in one or more of the following disciplines: dinghy sailing, windsurfing, powerboating, cruising and paddlesports.
You should also have experience of working in a training centre delivering water sports to a wide variety of client groups. Instructors must have excellent organisational and communication skills.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted after the closing date and be expected to attend the appropriate Induction days at sportscotland National Centre Cumbrae.
Dinghy, windsurfing, powerboating and paddlesports Instructors working ‘at the centre’:
Inductions will be on Saturday 2nd Sunday 3rd April.
Cruising Instructors working ‘on the yacht’: Inductions will take place on Saturday 26th Sunday 27th March.
