Who uses the centre

A perfect place to come on your own and meet new people! All our courses are open to any individuals subject to the pre-requisites of the course.

Groups of friends or clubs will find it easy to join in any of the listed courses. We also encourage you to contact us if you would prefer to have the activities tailored to your needs and interests. Through experience we are aware of differing ability levels and preferences within groups. We can confidently work with you to set up a multi activity programme that will satisfy everyone.

School groups

Our island location offers an adventure away from home. The staff are experienced with school groups and understand the requirements and needs of the children. The activity weeks provide fun and learning in a safe environment. With full board accommodation, your group will be well looked after and the tuck shop and lounge area for evening entertainment are added attractions. Our school liaison member of staff will be pleased to visit your school and also organise a visit for you to come to the centre. Visit our Schools section.

Corporate facilities

The island is a perfect location for getting colleagues or clients away from the office. The sports we offer are good for recreation and team building and the island itself offers alternative activities that can be organised. Indoors are a range of comfortable lecture/conference rooms, with powerpoint, data projectors, flipcharts, a dining area, tea and coffee services and of course the ‘Scuttlebutt’ Bar.

Commercial groups

We have run many certificated training courses for commercial organisations including the M.O.D., HM Clyde Naval Base Faslane, R.S.P.B, Stenaline, and Serco to name a few. With our wealth of experience and professionalism we will be happy to work with you delivering your training needs to your workforce. Please contact us for specific information.

The Centre is well used by private diving groups. Launching and berthing of ribs is easy, self catering accommodation is available as are ribs for charter and we have an air compressor on site.

We are aware that there are many forms of disability that may affect our customers use of our facilities. We give special attention to ensure that any difficulties are minimised and where possible, overcome. Different watersport activities have different physical demands. If you are unsure about the activity you are interested in pursuing then telephone and discuss the situation with our staff. We are committed to encouraging participation for all in watersports and will endeavour to suit your requirements.

Scottish National Squad

RYA Scotland run a number of Performance Squads and Class Academies at the Centre which provide high standards of coaching, supporting race training & competition. The Centre can also be used as a venue for pre-event training in preparation for any Championship Events at Largs.
