RYA INSTRUCTOR TRAINING IN SCOTLAND
RYA Instructor training courses available in powerboating, dinghy sailing, windsurfing and cruising.
This is a primary role for the National Centre: to deliver quality courses to produce high class future instructors. UK Instructor qualifications are essential for volunteering and working in watersports and ensuring good teaching throughout the country. RYA Start Windsurfing Instructor Course
Age 16 +
This is the course for those who wish to teach beginners to windsurf. This is an intense week of training and assessment.

RYA Intermediate Windsurfing Instructor
This course introduces the instructional and coaching skills to teach students planing skills. The 4 day course is for competent windsurfers of intermediate planning or advanced personal abilities with 50 hours teaching experience.

RYA Cruising Instructor
This course is aimed at commercially qualified Yachtmasters who wish to teach the RYA Competent Crew and Day Skipper courses. With continuous assessment throughout the course you will be trained and assessed in running all the aspects the syllabus for theses two courses.
Successful completion of this course is required before attending a Yachtmaster Instructor Qualifying course. RYA membership is recommended.

RYA Yachtmaster Instructor Training & Assessment
Designed for experienced and qualified RYA Cruising Instructors who wish to teach cruising up to RYA Coastal Skipper / Yachtmaster Offshore levels. RYA Dinghy Instructor Training & Assessment

A course delivered following the RYA syllabus. There will be a mix of practical and theory based exercises. Our Coaches will be working towards the successful training of each candidate and the assessment of candidates will be confirmed by an RYA appointed moderator.

RYA Senior Instructor Training & Assessment
Age 18 +
This is the progression for RYA Instructors seeking positions with more responsibility. The RYA G14 handbook explains the course in more detail. The course requires good sailing ability and experience of teaching.
In agreement with the RYA and RYA Scotland all Senior Instructor Training is now being co-ordinated through the National Centre Cumbrae. The dates and location of the 2010 Senior Instructor courses in Scotland are shown.
The cost of each course is the same but bear in mind the course cost does not include B&B and domestic costs. Further information on this can be made available by contacting the venue as indicated below or on our website.

Fastrack Powerboat Instructor Training
As a Powerboat Instructor you will become an integral player in any organisation providing water based activities. This is an important qualification for both employment and voluntary sector opportunities.
This intensive 18 day powerboat Instructor course maximises your training while minimising the time taken. The course is available for experienced powerboat drivers qualified to RYA powerboat Level 2. It is a requirement of the RYA that candidates going on to do the Powerboat Instructor course at the end successfully complete the Pre entry assessment which forms part of this course
