ILA Scotland Funding Training
ILA Scotland is a simple way to get up to £200 a year towards the cost of learning. It is a Scottish Government scheme for people who are 16 or over, with an income of £22,000 a year or less or who are on benefits. The money is not a loan - so you don't have to pay any of it back and it can be used towards many different types of courses including many of the RYA training courses on offer at sportscotland National Centre Cumbrae.
There are two types of ILA account available. The £200 account is relevant for anyone interested in funding for Cumbraes’ courses. The other type of account is more suited if you want to study a part-time higher education or professional qualification More information can be found on the ILA Scotland website
Many of Cumbraes RYA training courses have been registered with the ILA, All our eligible courses have the ILA logo next to them on our website Cumbrae courses priced less than £200, like many of our one day shorebased courses, can be covered in full and leave money to spare in your ILA account for other training. For courses costing more than £200, the £200 ILA funding can be used towards the total cost of the training, providing a significant reduction in the overall course cost to the individual.
What a great way for many people to cut the personal cost of Cumbraes’ training courses. Whether you are considering a Day Skipper shorebased course or are a budding Instructor. Keen to try yacht cruising or want to learn how to drive fast powerboats, any way of getting financial help towards your aims, ambitions and personal goals must be a good thing.
Whatever course you decide on, make sure that you have applied for your learner account and that you have received your account number before booking a course as you cannot use your funds to pay for a course that you have already booked. click to go to direct the ILA application form
