Cumbrae on Canvas
A keen West Coast cruising sailor Niall McTeague was recently commisionsed to produce a painting of sportscotlands National Centre Cumbrae. Niall is a self taught artist living and working in Scotland and based in Glasgow. He has been painting for many years and exhibits and sells originals and prints from home and selected galleries.
Dramatic seascapes and landscapes are the main subjects of his portfolio and these themes overlap in his paintings of hill walking, water sports and skiing A member of the Society of Scottish Artists Niall has exhibited successfully around Britain including being short listed for the Laing Art Show. It was Niall’s love of the outdoors and in particular his enthusiasm for sailing that caught our interest.
We are delighted with the painting that Niall has produced for us, we spent some time providing him with photographs of the centre taken from different angles and of sailing dinghies. He was even able to incorporate our new, classroom and dining room extension into the picture working from the architects drawings that we provided. He has done an excellent job in combining our images and thoughts into his work and we are very pleased with the result
Copies of the “Cumbrae Painting” are available as prints, either on their own, mounted or mounted and framed. They are available to buy through the shop at the centre and make a great and lasting momento for the many people who use the National Centre
More details of Nialls work, sea and landscapes can be found on his website, www.niallmcteague.co.uk
