450+ years of experience

Over the first weekend in April over 450 years of sailing expertise gathered for the National Centres staff training weekend. With a massive range of skills and experience across the many disciplines of watersports the Cumbrae staff team came together, participating in the practical and shorebased training and induction programme. The staff were updated on all the latest policies connected with the operation of Cumbrae and and the rigid safety procedures that we operate under . Staff signed up for different workshops which covered a variety of topics and lots of time afloat on the Sunday provided a great opportunity  to sail with each other in an informal setting.

It was great having everyone together in the same place at the same time", says Chris Nichol the centres Chief Instructor. "Nightwatch staff were able to meet up and learn form the instructors who in turn shared their many skills with each other. Getting everyone together like this is a rare occurrence and is always difficult to achieve as we operate 24 hours a day and run a very busy programme both on and off site".

The very successful weekend was also a great way to kick start the season and blow away the cobwebs. we are now all fired up and raring to go......and looking forward to seeing you out on the water.
