About The Centre

A log chalet style building with excellent indoor facilities. During courses you will use the lecture rooms, changing rooms, drying area and dining room. For relaxing in the evenings there is a comfortable lounge and bar, sauna and gym facilities. The log chalets accommodate twelve persons in twin rooms with bunks. Each chalet has a lounge area with basic kitchen facilities. The grounds around the Centre are ideal for the storage of the equipment used and for rigging and preparation. The beach is only metres away once you are ready to go afloat.

Catering

We realise that good wholesome food makes a considerable difference to your visit. Domestic arrangements are organised by our catering team who work from a modern kitchen to provide a choice of tasty meals.

Safety

We want you to enjoy your visit and view safety as paramount importance. Cumbrae is licensed by the Adventure Activity Licensing Authority and works to the standards of the National Governing Bodies. However, as with all outdoor activities, there are some physical demands that are inherent in the sport. If you are concerned for yourself or your child's suitability to participate, please contact the Centre to discuss the course content.

Own Boat Tuition

Our staff are also available to join you on your own boat for personal tuition. This intensive tuition allows you and your crew to train and gain experience on your own boat. Please contact us to arrange suitable dates.

What We Include

We try to ensure that there are no hidden extras on our courses. The following are included within the course fee: Tuition, Appropriate craft, Waterproofs, Wetsuits, Wetsuit Boots, Dinghy Suits, Meals (unless stated), All transport within the course, Tea and coffee, Certificates, Accommodation, if appropriate, Fuel and Marina fees when cruising.

We Don't Include

Travel to the Centre, Friday evening meals, Log books, Towels, Insurance, Wellies.

The Instructional Staff

All our full time and seasonal staff are highly qualified in what we do. Staff members bring with them their own energy and enthusiasm for the activities. They also have a huge breadth and depth of personal and instructing experience in their own specialist areas that their certification may not reflect. Ashore our support staff will endeavour to make your stay with us as comfortable and welcoming as possible. All Instructional staff hold a valid first aid certificate.
